Apeksha Rao, well known by her Stage name ‘Shilpa Rao’, is an Indian Singer, who works prominently in Bollywood film industry. She started her career as a Jingle singer and in the year 2007, with the movie Anwar, she made her entry in the Bollywood film industry.
Career:
She made her debut through the song, ‘Tose Naina’ from the movie ‘Anwar’, released in the year 2007. However, she became popular from the song ‘Khuda Jaane’ from the movie Bachna Ae Haseno, released in the year 2008. Following this, she has sung many notable songs for many successful movies. Her song ‘Manmarziyn’ from Lootera, released in the year 2013, was critically acclaimed and described the song as ‘Delightful Hearings’.
She is the only Indian, who has got the chance of singing for the critically acclaimed ‘Coke Studio Pakistan’, with the song ‘Paar Chanaa De’, in the year 2016. By singing many notable songs, she has become one of the top female playback singer in the industry. She is known for trying new styles of songs and singing for different genres. She has also been nominated for ‘Best Female Singer’ category. She is the recipient of ‘ITA Award for Best Singer’.
Currently, she is one of the jury members of the famous Hindi singing reality competition, ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs’, aired on Zee TV.
