Mohan Madhukar Bhagwat, is an Indian Politician, who is currently serving as the chief of ‘Rashtriya Swayansevak Sangh (RSS)’, a Hindu Nationalist Party. He was chosen for this post, in the year 2009, where he succeeded K.S.Sudarshan. He is a RSS family background, where his father was one of the members of the RSS.
Career:
Mohan Bhagwat’s father, Madhukar Rao Bhagwat served as the Karyanahak, a secretary in the RSS and later was promoted as the Prant Pracharak, a divisional promoter for Gujarat. Mohan Bhagwat, is the eldest son in his family. Bhagwat, completed his graduation and when he was pursuing his post graduation, his interest towards RSS made him quit his education and join RSS, following his father’s footsteps.
Initially, during an emergency, he worked underground and later was promoted as a Pracharak of Akola in Maharastra, in 1977. He subsequently gained more popularity within the organisation and became responsible for Nagpur and Vidarbha regions. In 1991, he became in-charge of the physical training and served till 1999. Later, on March 21, 2009, he was chosen as the Chief of the RSS and became one of the youngest and most protected Indian, from RSS to become RSS Chief Executive.
