Muhammad Yusuf Khan, popularly known as Dilip Kumar, is an Indian actor and producer, who is well-known for his works in the Bollywood film Industry. He is considered as one of the most influential actor of all time, since he brought reality into his acting. He has acted in over 65, in the span of over 60 years in the field. He is also a proud recipient of many prestigious awards, including Guinness World Record.

In the year 1944, he started his career through the movie, ‘Jwar Bhata’. However, his performance went uncredited, followed by few more unsuccessful movies. Later in the year 1947, he starred in the blockbuster movie, ‘Jugunu’, Following this, he starred in many hit films like, ‘Shaheed, Mela, Shabnam, Sairat,Babul, etc’. He has acted in various genre movies including action, romantic films.

He has also received maximum number of awards for his performance including Film Fare Awards. He also holds the Guinness World record for receiving maximum number of awards. Including these, he has also received, ‘Filmfare LifeTime Achievement Award’, in the year 1993. In addition to the acting career, he was also nominated as a member of the Parliament by Indian National Congress, from 2000 – 2006.

At present, the 94-year old actor is facing a health setback and has been diagnosed with Kidney failure. He was admitted in the ICU in Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai on August 2, 2017. However, doctors have stated that his creatinine levels have been increasing and the actor is going into renal failure.
