Asiya Andrabi, is the founder of the ‘Dukhtaran-e-Millat’ and a well known Kashmir Seperatist. She is considered as the Iron Lady of the organisation and her burkha and her idea of separation of Kashmir Valley, from India, has projected her as an Islamic extremist and separatist. The group under her lead, is also a part of the ‘All Parties Hurriyat Conference’.

Career:In the year 1980, Asiya founded the organisation, ‘Dukhtaran-e-Millat’ and lead the women to create provocation in the Kashmir Valley, to separate it from India. She started her anti-social separatist campaign, with armed insurgency, in the year 1990. As a result of this, she was arrested in the year 1993 and was later released on 1994. Soon after release, she went underground, till the year 2004. She was arrested on monthly basis from 2007 to 2009, which led to her being held up for 2 consecutive year, in 2010.
Her DeM organisation, is a part of the Hurriyat Conference, led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani. She is referred to as the freedom fighter and an Iron Lady, by her supporters. Even today, she has been arrested from her residence, on Public Safety Act., since she provoking women to pelt stones at security forces and disrupt the normal life.
