Manipur ElectionIt has been a tough time for state as it is witnessing major blockade by United Naga Council, on the decision of creating seven new districts. This protest has lead to major blockade in the city for three months now. However, both the state and Central government has not taken any action on this issue. Opinion Poll Results:

Result of the India Today-Axis Opinion Poll was released by October 13, 2016. However, the poll gave some shocking results and it seems that Indian National Congress will not have enough seats to form a Government.

Political Party Expected Seats
Bharatiya Janata Party 31-35
Indian National Congress 19-24
NPF 3-5
Others 2-4

Result Predictions:

Since the Opinion poll result has been bit of shock to the Indian National Congress, it has been reported that the party is losing supporters in the Manipur state, due to their negligence towards the law and order issue. It has also been reported that, due to the scams in which Congress was part of at the time it was in the Central Government. This has been a huge loss for Congress Party.

On the other hand, Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) is tremendously gaining popularity due to the tough decisions taken by Mr. Narendra Modi. For example, Modi’s overnight decision of demonetizing the denomination of 500 and 1000 rupees note and bringing all the black money out, has gained positive impact on the public of Manipur. We believe that BJP can form a government even without the requirement of any alliance with the regional parties.

As per the survey conducted, if BJP forms a government in this election, the state will see many new Infrastructural developments. People believe that BJP will be resolving issue like Inner Line Permit and implement the same, which protects right of Indian people living in Manipur.

However, we have wait till next month to see who wins the State Legislative assembly and forms a government in Manipur.
