Mia Sara made her acting debut with an episode in the television soap opera “All My Children” in the year 1983. However, her film debut was in the 1985 fairy-tale movie “Legend” alongside Tom Cruise and Tim Curry. Sara’s breakthrough movie was the 1986 blockbuster “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” in which she played the role of Ferris Bueller’s girlfriend, Sloane Peterson. The movie grossed $70.7 million against a budget of $5.5 million.
Mia Sara played the lead role in the 1987 mini series “Queenie”. In the year 1988, she appeared in the films “Shadows in the Storm” and “Apprentice to Murder”. She guest starred in “Alfred Hitchcock Presents” in the same year. In 1989, she appeared in the TV movie “Big Time” and miniseries “Till We Meet Again”.
